Fairgrounds Park
Storm Diversion -
The Village is moving forward with engineering plans to
divert storm water from the Fairgrounds Park neighborhood away from Palanois Park. This will provide more capacity in the Palanois Park
storm system during heavy rain events. Additionally, the Village has
undertaken an engineering study that would potentially lead to
redirecting the sanitary sewer system in the same area.
The
Village also continues to offer low interest loans and cost sharing
programs to help residents upgrade their plumbing systems and address
private storm water management issues.

Palatine Road and
Plum Grove Road Intersection Improvements
– The Village continues to work on engineering
design for this roadway and intersection improvement. Acquisition of
the necessary Right of Way is an ongoing process and we are awaiting

Brockwav
Streetscape –
Brockway Street has been identified as a key north-south corridor for
downtown Palatine. A project has been identified in the 2008 budget to
improve the physical characteristics of the roadway and sidewalks,
incorporate the aesthetics of the corridor, and coordinate with the
downtown merchants and residents along the improvement route.
Currently, work being conduced include; field survey, preliminary
engineering, conducting a stakeholder meeting with sketches of the
streetscape program, and formalizing a workable design solution that
coordinates the planned improvements to Palatine Road. |

Palatine Place (Block 27
Redevelopment Project)
(Wilson Street and Brockway Street)
The Redevelopment
Agreement with Focus Development has expired. Due to the economic
conditions beyond everyone’s control, the project as approved by the
Village will no longer be moving forward. Focus continues to work with
Village staff on identifying alternatives for this important block. |
